Just Jack

At the last minute, my parents got a good deal on a room at the Motor Lodge in Frankenmuth right after the Memorial Day weekend, so they took Hannah home with them so that she and Kara could enjoy the pools, games, and playground.  For the first time ever for more than just a few hours, this gave me time alone with Jack.  I absolutely LOVE being home with both of my kids, but it was such a treat to be able to spend some one-on-one time with just my little guy.
He is such a character!  Having Hannah's kitchen all to himself, he got right into it - literally!  He took the sink out, and then stuck his head into the cabinet below to look out through the empty hole.  Goof ball.

I forgot how easy it was to only have one child around.  We did errands every day.  Things move so much faster when there is only one child to buckle into a car seat.  Plus, I got 2 nap times to get things done!

It was most fun, though, to be able to give Jack my full attention and really get the time to observe all that he's doing.  He's growing so fast, and so many times I get distracted with all that I need to do that I miss the new little things.  We really are blessed with such a fun, happy, easy-going guy.

Unfortunately, our time was cut short due to illness.  My parents brought Hannah home a day early with a low-grade fever, a gunky eye, and complaints of her ear hurting.  Thankfully I was able to get her into the doctor that day to discover that she had an ear infection and also what turned out to be pink eye.  Thank goodness for amoxicillin and ibuprofen.
