Morning at the Gardens

We have been loving this beautiful warm weather and trying to spend as much time outside as possible. Since we again had another lovely day on Thursday, Hannah and I spent the morning at Frederik Meijer Gardens. They currently have a beautiful Chihuly glass exhibit going on both inside and outside, but unfortunately we didn't take much time to view the pieces. I'm looking forward to going back very soon to take it in.

One of the Chihuly pieces on the way out to the Children's Garden

We spent the whole time playing in the Children's Garden. It's so nice that Hannah's now big enough to really enjoy this wonderfully fun area. I must say that at 38 1/2 weeks pregnant in near 80 degree temps, it was quite a challenge to keep up with Hannah, but she had a great time running all over. We spent a lot of time exploring the big treehouse.

On our way to the "rock quarry" (aka sand box), Hannah had to stop and take a look at the busy ants.

Having fun shoveling in the sand.

Of course, her favorite part was playing with the boats in the Great Lakes pools. Most kids seemed to play with their boats, and when they were finished just left them floating in the pool. I was amazed that Hannah actually picked up boats from the boat cart and returned them when she was done. She did this over and over and over again. I was very proud of her for putting her toys away! I think this was the first time that she actually didn't try to climb into the pool herself. She did a very good job of pushing her boats around and around. I think we will be spending a lot of time there this summer.

Trying out a new boat.
Such focus. We can't wait to bring Daddy back with us to play with the boats as well.
