Herbs and other things

My mom and her friends have attended the Frankenmuth Herb Society's Annual Herb Luncheon at Zehnders for the past few years.  Every year, my mom RAVES about how wonderful it is!  Up until this year, I've always been working, but this year I was finally able to join them.  Each year the national herb society chooses an herb of the year, and this is what the chef at Zehnder's forms his menu around.  This year, the herb was horseradish.  I must say that I was pretty skeptical since I'm not a horseradish fan at. all.  However, my preconceived notions were pleasantly wrong.  The meal was  A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!  Salad greens with smoked trout and avacado dressing, pork loin with pesto horseradish sauce, aged cheddar macaroni and cheese with asparagus, goat cheese and sundried tomato tart, and lemon cheese cake with strawberries for dessert.  OH MY GOODNESS!!!  So delicious!

Not only did I go to Frankenmuth for the luncheon, but I also took the kids and was able to get in visits with all of my grandparents (Yes, Hannah and Jack have my 4 living grandparents and Jason's grandpa as well!).  All of them were so excited to see us, especially the kids.

Not only were we able to see my parents and grandparents, but we also got to see Uncle Todd, Aunt Courtney, Kara, Aunt Lynn, and Grand Julie  When we go, we definitely pack it in!  It was so great to see everybody.
